Hi, my name is Gavin, I attended Medway College of Design during the 1980’s where I studied Silversmithing. Always having an interest in modelmaking since an early age I combined the two skills to produce traditionally sculpted items. However, in 2012 I was introduced to 3D sculpting. Aware of its many advantages I began to use ZBrush software to produce my work in this way.
I have produced work for several leading Goldsmiths, Silversmiths and Jewellers and have won several Goldsmith’s craft and design awards including in 2012 the much coveted Cartier ward. I am also a fellow of the Institute of Professional Goldsmiths.
3D sculpting, also known as digital sculpting, is the use of software that offers tools to push, pull, smooth, grab, pinch or otherwise manipulate a digital object as if it were made of a real-life substance such as clay. 3D sculpting has many advantages over traditional sculpting methods in that ideas can be constructed or changed in very short time frames helping the customer to visualise quickly ideas that they have in mind.
Once completed sculptures can then be rendered in various finishes ( gold, silver, bronze etc) Finally, the finished sculpture is 3D printed to the size required ready for casting in precious metal.
I love creating bespoke sculptures, and I love to hear your feedback…
Gav is an absolutely brilliant modeler and has what so few craftsmen and artists have in this age of digital reproduction…a great eye, great manual skills and a real sympathy in conveying the human form, clothed or unclothed. He interprets my ideas brilliantly and he is also a wonderful sculptor of almost any other subject. Most importantly he is a lot of fun to work with.

You are the best of the best of the best, and a great bloke to boot, and the trade would be a worse place without you
